Wonderful List o' Goals!

It's getting to close the end here! The final quarter of this Seminar Year ends on the 15th and I get to celebrate my first New Seminar Year with Mary Kay on July 1st. It's pretty exciting for me. Because of this I've been considering my short term business goals and how I want to meet them. I wrote this list a couple of days ago, but I think it feels more formal to type it up and share 'em with everyone!

Quarter Goals
  • I've got to meet my Star goal
  • Sell 100 items by the 15th (or 12-13 items a day)
    • I now have a "10 or Less Box" :o It's cute!
  • Have 3 people order Father's Day gift packs by Sunday
  • Keep working with the Pink Relief Sun Care Kits
  • Book 3 to 5 more classes minimum before the 15th
  • Have an awesome End of Seminar Year party on Saturday! Woohoo!

Closing the Seminar Year Goals
  • Sign on 2 to 5 new people by the 30th
  • Hold 8 to 10 classes/facials/Trend Parties by the 30th
    • Ideally: 4 classes, 3 facials, 3 Trend Parties
  • From June 16th to June 30th, be at least 1/3rd of the way to my Star for the 1st quarter of the new year
Alright, I'll add an updated list as I meet certain goals. I'm so excited! And super nervous now that I've put all my goals out there for you guys to watch! Lol.

I'm working lots and praying even more!

Memorial Day Weekend News

Okay, so I have lots going on within the next 24 hours. First, I am doing my first ever $1,000 day (my current max in one day has been $600); second, today is the first day of my Memorial Day Weekend Sale!

Reasons why you want to participate in my $1,000 day goal:
  1. I will include a special gift with each order.
  2. When I reach my $1,000 goal, there will be a drawing where one lucky customer will get their order FREE
    • To enter the drawing: you need to place an order of at least $10
    • With every additional $10 spent, you will have your name entered an additional time.
      • For example: $50 in product would enter your name 5 times, $100 would enter you 10 times and so on.
  3. When I reach my goal, I will draw the winning name and that person will receive their order free!
Oh, wait! Remember that Memorial Day Sale I mentioned before? Well.......
So, for every $10 purchase you make, you get entered into a drawing AND receive 20% off your order.
I'm still taking orders for the Pink Relief Sun Care Kits. Thanks so much to those who have already helped out!
I hope everyone has an awesome weekend!

Donating to the Red Cross

Dear Friends! I, along with some fellow MKers, am launching a Pink Relief campaign for the communities in distress here in Georgia and Alabama with the recent tornado destruction.

One of the top needs for the victims and volunteers is Sunscreen. For every Pink Relief Sun Care Kit you purchase, which consists of a MK SPF 30 Sunscreen, a MK SPF 15 Lip Balm and a pack of Facial Cleaning Cloths for $39, I will MATCH your purchase and donate a 2nd kit. Together we will help two people battle the elements as they work to get their life back.

Click on the link below and order or simply e-mail me letting me know that you are interested in providing relief.

The Red Cross only accepts bulk donations on goods like these, so the more I can get together, the better! My goal is have 100 kits purchased so that I can donate 200 kits total.

You can donate an entire kit OR an individual item. Any help will be appreciated. Please feel free to share this with your friends too!

Summer Prep 101

Alright, I love my Georgia summers: heat that's uncomfortably sticky and humid, sunburns (especially those caused by the sun burning through my jeans! Don't ask me how...), pool parties, the AC turned way too low, the annual hair cut (coming soon!), going to art shows in buildings that lack AC, and all of my other favorite summer-type things. That being said, I've decided to combine my love of summer with the love I have for my Mary Kay business to create lots of fun summer specials.

The Basic Sun Protection Bundle ... $20 (+tax)

This bundle provides protection from UVA and UVB rays. The MK SPF 30 Sunscreen is lightweight, oil-free, waterproof & sweat-resistant. It absorbs quickly and leaves skin moisturized. It is also recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation. The SPF 15 Lip Protector Sunscreen is water-resistant, can be used under lip gloss or lipstick, and contains antioxidants & moisturizers.

The Basic Sun Protection Bundle+ ... $30 (+tax)
Add the MK After Sun Replenishing Gel to the bundle above. This Replenishing Gel is formulated with botanical extracts and soothing antioxidants to replenish moisture. Non-sticky, easy application, and quick absorption. It leaves your skin feeling cool!

Summer Looks Package ... $40
So this package is a little bit of a mix-n-match kind of deal. You can choose 2 Cream Eye Colors, select which waterproof mascara you want (black or black/brown), and top it off the SPF 30 Sunscreen.

Cream Eye Color ... $13 (or 2 for $22)
Waterproof, crease-proof, long-wearing formula that lasts for up to 10 hours.

Colors (from left to right):
Apricot Twist
Pale Blush
Glacier Grey
Beach Blonde
Iced Cocoa

Waterproof Mascara ... $10 (+1 Eye Color for $20)
Tear-proof, pool-proof and humidity-proof.

Oh! Add a Tinted Lip Balm Sunscreen SPF 15 to any of these bundles for $10. ;)
I personally use the Rose color.

Awesome Weekend!

So, I accidentally slacked this weekend with the blog, BUT I did have an incredible (and educational) weekend at the first annual Mary Kay Pensacola Beach Retreat.

Loved the name badge. :) (Excuse the poor picture quality)

It was a very motivating and emotionally charged experience, and I'm so thankful for the incredible friends I made. I cannot wait for next year!

Oh, and I was wearing my Weekender Collection the whole time...of course. It's so easy to use and I love the sparkling white eye pencil. The commercial explains it all ( youtube).

I hope your weekend was great and that your week will be greater,

For the guys (Part 1)

Today I'll be highlighting two products from the MKMen® line: MKMen® Face Bar and MKMen® Moisturizer Sunscreen SPF 25.

MKMen® Face Bar
Beyond cleaning and buffing the skin, the face bar also reduces visible signs of aging. Men's skin tends to be oilier than women's, and this bar has been formulated to help keep the skin in a moisture balance.                                                             On average, it lasts about 2-3 months.

It is retailed at $14.

This moisturizing sunscreen is perfect for the upcoming summer months because it protects you from UVA and UVB rays (the rays that age and burn). It's an easily absorbed lotion that retains its sun protection for 80 minutes in water. So, it's also pool friendly!

It is also recommended by the Skin Care Foundation.

It is retailed at $22.

I'm offering an early-ish $30 summer package deal when you decide to buy these two together.

Tomorrow's post will highlight the Limited Edition Weekender Collection!

Cutest Compact Commercial

I accidentally ran across this new Mary Kay compact commercial. It's super cute and it makes the artsy side of me quite happy.

Hope you all had an awesome day with your Mommas! Watch out for a longer post tomorrow after I make my follow up calls about the Mom's Pampering Gift Packages. Just FYI: It's not too late to celebrate this Month for Mom. :)

Get Beautiful. Give back.

I wanted to offer everyone a fun way to donate their time: get a color makeover! Mary Kay is doing this awesome makeover event:
All that's required is your face, about half an hour, and two photos (before and after shots)!

Makeover models with the most votes could win a $2,500 donation to the charity of their choice plus a $2,500 luxury weekend getaway! Awesome, right? There's more, keep reading!

Mary Kay Inc. will then sponsor a Habitat for Humanity home in the name of the consultant who has given the most Makeovers. I think that's really cool!

The deadline for all this awesomeness is June 15.

My goal is to give at least 10 personalized color makeovers by Saturday, May 21st. Let me know if you'd like to be a model because I'll be calling and emailing folks in the next few days! :)

The soft touch

Today's product spotlight is a Mary Kay best seller: The Satin Hands Pampering Set (unscented and peach scented)

My favorite part of a skin care class is demonstrating the Satin Hands Pampering Set, just because I know that afterwards people just can't get over how soft their hands are and they always say, "My hands have never been this soft before!"

Three steps make up the Satin Hands Pampering "session":
  • Step 1: The Hand Softener (the skinniest, tallest tube). Make sure you hands are damp and just apply a small, almost dime-size amount to your hand.
    • This step just seals in moisture and offers immediate hydration.
    • The softener is unscented in both sets, and it includes a heavy duty emollient known to help maintain moisture. So it keep hands soft and smooooth!
  • Step 2: The Satin Smoothie Hand Scrub (the one in the soap bottle). You just apply one or two pumps of this with the Hand Softener still on your hands and have fun scrubbing those dead skin cells away! Haha.
    • The Peach scented Smoothie Scrub contains Peach and Apricot seed powder to exfoliate the dead surface cells.
  • Step 3: Satin Hands Hand Cream (the final step!). After you rinse and dry your hands, you apply the Hand Cream to seal in the moisture and provide a protective layer that lasts through several washings.
    • The Hand Cream provides up to 24 hours of moisturization and it absorbs quickly.
On average, this whole set will last about 2.5 months if used once a day. You won't really need to use it more than that unless you have really dry hands.

Each set is retailed at $34, and the lotion can be purchased separately for $10. I know I use the lotion more often than the rest, so it helps being able to get that by itself!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

A Month for Mom!

This just in! I have 35 Mom Pampering Packages to give away this month!

"What is a Mom Pampering Package?" you might ask. Well, a Mom Pampering Package includes a skin care analysis, microdermabrasion treatment, lip and hand treatment, custom foundation matching, personalized color makeover and a $15 gift card!

And guess what! All you have to do is send me an e-mail saying you want to sign up your Mom ("Mom" being your mom, a friend or relative you know is a Mom or Mom-to-be, just anyone who's a Mom!), I'll send you a personalized "gift certificate" for you to print, and on Mother's Day you just give her the certificate!

Be sure to include in the e-mail:
  • your name and number
  • her information (name, phone number, and e-mail address)
  • the best way to reach your Mom
  • the best time to call you because I'll be calling you the day after Mother's Day to see if you were able to give her the certificate
  • and then I'll call her to schedule a date!
Easy, right? :)

I also encourage you to join her for the Pampering Session. Yes, even the guys! And if you want to give this gift to multiple Moms, I'll have a special gift just for you!

And for those who buy the Limited Edition gift sets, I'll print out a certificate to put inside the gift as well. :)

Mother's Day!

Alright, I've been guilty of spamming Facebook with the new Limited Edition Mother's Day gift sets! They're just super cute and sweet, and great last minute gifts! (Mom's Day is less than 5 days away now!)

First we have: Bella Belara® Mother's Day Set

"An exuberant floral fruity perfume that captivates immediately. Comes with coordinating bag with satin ribbon pulls." - marykay.com

This gift set is typically $45, and I only have 1 left! I'm offering to sell this for $40 if someone contacts me by midnight tonight!

Next: Simply Cotton® Mother's Day Set
"Clean, crisp, refreshing scent great for everyday. Comes with a denim Weekender bag and coordinating scarf." - marykay.com

I think this is my favorite set (probably because I'm a fan of polka dots)! It's super cute with the summer scarf and great for little weekend beach trips.

This set is typically $35, and I only have 1 left! I'm offering the same $5 off as above, selling this for $30 if someone contacts me by midnight tonight!

And then! We have the Limited Edition Mary Kay® Pedicure Set.

"The set includes Relaxing Foot Soak and Soothing Foot Balm with a fresh Rosemary Mint scent, Pedicure Brush with Pumice Stone and a coordinating zipper bag." - marykay.com

This is perfect for the upcoming summer months and those fun pool side (or beach side) parties! And it'd be totally understandable if you decide to get this for yourself, or your significant other, instead of your Mom! This set is fun!

It is retailed at $22, but since, again, I have only 1 left, I'm selling it for $20 if someone contacts me by midnight tonight!

*The links and discounts included here are for my personal website and sales. If you already have a consultant, ask her if she still has these fun products stocked. :)

Short and to the Point (Maybe!)

For those of you who don't know me, I'm Katerina. I started my Mary Kay business for my 25th birthday last September. I started this business for two main reasons: the money and the ability to work with other people instead of working for someone else. I graduated with a BFA in painting and obtained another degree in Graphic Design, and I couldn't picture myself working for anyone else and not really being able to express my own creative ideas. My goal with Mary Kay is to pursue the Directorship career path in order to have the ability to sponsor my own projects and give back to the greater art community.

Since I started my small business, I've been trying to figure out a fun way to learn about and share information on all the amazing products Mary Kay has...the result is this blog!! Yay! This blog is for new Mary Kay customers, current Mary Kay customers, consultants, and just anyone wanting to learn more about Mary Kay. :)
I'll be posting product info, current promotions, when I meet certain MK goals, and any Mary Kay events that may come up.

I do want this to be an interactive blog, so if you have any questions or ideas please post a comment or shoot me an email! I'm aiming to update this at least every other day, maybe even every day, so your feedback will be addressed and greatly appreciated! :)

 Kat
*P.S.- My profile image is where I'll be posting my current goal! The red jacket you are seeing is the new Charley red jacket. I just need three more team members by June 30 to get it!
